In this section you will find information on what to do if you plan to bring in pets, e.g. a dog or a cat, to Åland if you move there, and on bringing in animals for temporary stays, for instance if you spend the summer in Åland.

You can get information on importing animals to or from Sweden on the Swedish Board of Agriculture’s webpage on Dogs, cats and ferrets. You can get information on importing animals to Åland and Finland on the Finnish Food Authority’s webpage on Importing dogs, cats and ferrets from EU countries to Finland (Åland). The Åland small animal clinic has a good webpage with information on e.g. what conditions apply if you bring in a dog (also applies to puppies) to Åland as well as other useful information. It is recommended that you read these pages as they are updated regularly and you can see what rules are currently in place.
