The remit of the Labour Market Committee is to enhance and promote Nordic co-operation on employment policy, labour-market policy in general and research into aspects of the labour market – e.g. job centres, policy initiatives and unemployment insurance – as well as to initiate projects that will form the basis for the development and modernisation of labour-market policy in the Nordic countries, prioritise topical themes and allocate project funding accordingly.
Remit and action plans
The Labour Market Committee was set up by the Committee of Senior Officials for Labour (EK-A) to help implement the Council of Ministers for Labour's (MR-A) co-operation programme.
As part of the implementation process, the Labour Market Committee draws up annual action plans based on the priorities outlined in the programme for the annual Presidency of the Council of Ministers and on the committee's remit, duties and strategy. Please contact the committee secretary for details of the current action plan.
The Labour Market Committee’s annual reports include descriptions of activities in the previous year, ongoing and completed projects, brief evaluations of completed projects and of how its project funding was allocated. See below for information about the main activities and projects in previous years.
