54 nominees from eight countries. Meet the nominees of the Nordic Council prizes 2021. The winners of the Nordic Council prizes will be announced on 2 November at an awards ceremony in Copenhagen in conjunction with the Nordic Council Session 2021.

Nominees for the 2021 Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize

Fourteen Nordic picture books, youth novels, and future epics have been nominated for the 2021 Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize.  Eight Nordic languages are represented among this year’s nominees.

Nominees for the 2021 Nordic Council Film Prize

This year, five Nordic films have been nominated for the prestigious Nordic Council Film Prize. Among the nominated films are two documentaries and three feature films.

 

Nominees for the 2021 Nordic Council Music Prize

Thirteen artists and ensembles who have created outstanding pieces of music have been nominated for the 2021 Nordic Council Music Prize. Among this year’s nominees are vocalists, folk musicians, trumpeters, a pianist, a multi-instrumentalist, and a DJ collective.

Nominees for the 2021 Nordic Council Environment Prize

A database of the carbon footprint of different foods, regenerative agriculture that binds CO2 in the soil, and a greenhouse in Greenland that supplies restaurants and local residents with fresh food are among the nominees of the 2021 Nordic Council Environment Prize.

Nominees for the 2021 Nordic Council Literature Prize

Fourteen Nordic novels, short stories, and poetry collections have been nominated for the 2021 Nordic Council Literature Prize. This year’s nominees span the entire Nordic Region with works from all countries and language areas.

Awards ceremony available to watch throughout the Nordic Region

Everyone in the Nordic Region will be able to watch the live broadcast announcing the winners of the Nordic Council’s prizes for children and young people’s literature, film, literature, the environment, and music.

The awards ceremony is being produced by DR and will be broadcast at 20:00 (CET) on DR 2 and via livestream at www.dr.dk to enjoy throughout the Nordic Region. 

Norway’s NRK, Sweden’s SVT, and Finland’s Yle will also broadcast the ceremony live, while Iceland’s RÚV will broadcast the show on 3 November. Check your national television listings for details.
