The Nordic Council of Ministers' Secretariat in Copenhagen is responsible for day-to-day inter-governmental co-operation. It prepares the agenda items discussed by the 12 councils and committees of senior officials and is responsible for following up on and implementing decisions.

The Secretariat's structure is dynamic, changing in line with decisions on Nordic co-operation made by the national governments.
