The Nordic Energy Report on the future of co-operation on energy in the Nordic Region, which was commissioned by the Council of Ministers and written by Jorma Ollila (FIN), will be published and handed over to the Norwegian energy minister, Terje Søviknes, and the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Dagfinn Høybråten, on 20 June.

In 21016, Jorma Ollila, a former Nokia CEO, was asked to conduct a strategic review of the energy sector in the Nordic Region. His task was to analyse the current co-operation and present 10–15 tangible proposals for how it might be developed in the next 5–10 years.

The report serves as input into the energy debate. Ultimately, the energy ministers and Nordic governments will decide the shape of future co-operation.

Norway holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2017, which is why the report will be presented to the Norwegian minister. A press conference, in English, about the launch of the report will be held at 10:30 on 20 June at Akersgata 59, Media Room D1129 R5, in Oslo. It will be streamed live online at the Nordic Council Facebook page and at regjeringen.no.
