Daniel Ehrnberg, Sverige
Daniel Ehrnberg is nominated for having developed a new wave-power principle for an exam project at the University of Gothenburg, which has the potential to develop into a tool for use during the conversion process from dependence on fossil fuels to the use of renewable energy.

Daniel is working in collaboration with Aalborg University and has limited funds, so the prize will give him a better opportunity to develop a prototype. The concept is called a Vigor Wave Energy Converter and is based on exploiting the concentrated energy found at the bottom of the sea. The construction principle may mean that power plants will be cheaper, more effective and more reliable in the future. The project has great potential to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the Baltic Sea area. However, there are also opportunities to make use of this wave energy principle in South America, Japan and Australia.
