You will be taken on a guided trip through Nordic examples of realized architecture, planning and design, which in different ways combat climate change and incorporate the UN 17 SDGs, and get an introduction to the work of UIA and their Commission on the UN Sustainable Development Goals working for a sustainable transition in architecture.

12.30-13.30 Cities: The Clean Industrial Hubs of the Future

The event will focus on the role cities will play in building and supporting the industry of the future. By procuring low-carbon materials and investing in low-carbon infrastructure, cities can drive climate action in industries such as cement, steel and waste management. Finding solutions for sustainable production and consumption (SDG 12) in cities will provide key contributions to global climate action.


14.00-15.00 Negative Emissions: Dialogue on Enabling Frameworks

Negative emissions are increasingly acknowledged as critical to avoiding dangerous climate change. Yet there are few examples of the enabling frameworks to achieve carbon dioxide removal at a significant scale. 

Join us in the Nordic Pavilion at COP25 as actors from across the carbon removals debate share their perspective on the role of governance in scaling up negative emissions. The event will explore best practice examples from the Nordic region, and from across the World.
