The overall purpose of this call is to promote cooperation between Nordic representations in the world in line with The Nordic Council of Ministers vision and strategic priorities. Our vision is that the Nordic region will become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. Applications should include activities to serve this purpose.

To fulfill our Vision 2030, The Nordic Council of Ministers have established a set of strategies priorities. This means that all operations carried out by the Nordic Council of Ministers should be based upon the following perspectives:

  • A green Nordic region – together, we will promote a green transition of our societies and work towards carbon neutrality and a sustainable circular and bio-based economy.
  • A competitive Nordic region – together, we will promote green growth in the Nordic region based on knowledge, innovation, mobility and digital integration.
  • A socially sustainable Nordic region – together, we will promote an inclusive, equal and interconnected region with shared values and strengthened cultural exchange and welfare.

To apply for this call your project must incorporate one or more of these aspects in its preparation, objectivity and activities.  

Who can apply?

Only Nordic embassies and/or diplomatic missions outside the Nordic region may apply.

All projects must involve at least three of the following countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland or Åland. However, one of the Nordic countries may be replaced by at least one non-Nordic country. Involvement is defined as helping to run or implement the project.

How much can be applied for?

A minimum amount of 100.000 DKK and a maximum amount of 500.000 DKK can be applied for through this call.

Timeline for project activities

Projects that receive 250.000 DKK or less in financial support from this call must complete all project activities in 2023 (at the latest by 31st of December 2023).

 

Projects that receive more than 250.000 DKK must complete all project activities by late 2024 (at the latest by 31st of October 2024).

When to apply

The call is now open. The deadline is Monday the 21st of November 2022.

 

We expect to be able to inform applicants on our decision for financial support by mid-December 2022.

Requirements and criteria

To apply for funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers each project must 1) have a connection with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ strategic priorities, 2) include three Nordic countries and 3) help to add Nordic value.

 

Furthermore, priority is given to high quality projects with involvement and cooperation between multiple Nordic embassies and/or diplomatic missions.

Using the mandatory templates

Applications must be completed by using the following templates for your project description and budget form with optional annexes (June 2022-versions):

Make sure to calculate your budget in Danish kroners (DKK). Please note that it is required that you include a minimum of 6% and a maximum of 10% of the total budget to cover unforeseen expenses.
