Neighbourliness in Russian - and Nordic

12 Northwest Russian photo journalists take on the concept "Neighbourliness" is to be published as a book - the release is marked with a travelling exhibition which will open during Nordic Weeks in St. Petersburg on 1 October.

The photo exhibition presents works by 12 talented young photographers from Northwest Russia who have all taken part in the Nordic Master Class at the Nordic Journalist Centre in Denmark.

The exhibition will premiere in Nordic Weeks in St. Petersburg and then tour several Northwest Russian towns. At the same the book "Next Door" with even more photos and texts by young photographers.

The project has been funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and carried out in close co-operation with the photo programme at Danish School of Media and Journalism.

Other partners are the Regional Press Institute and the state university in St. Petersburg, Barents Press International in Murmansk and the Nordic Council of Ministers' Information office in St. Petersburg as well as the Nordic Journalist Centre.

Former Norwegian Foreign Minister, Thorvald Stoltenberg, has written the foreword.

Into our neighbours' living room

This is the second time that the Nordic Journalist Centre has carried out a Nordic Master Class for photograph talents. The first time the participants came from all the Nordic countries - this time they are from Northwest Russia.

Their photos bring us right into the living room of our Russian neighbours - as young photo talents see themselves.
