Young parliamentarians from the Nordic countries and Russia will get together April 23-25 in Oulu to discuss current political issues.

The forum for young parliamentarians was last held in Stockholm in 2012 and in Petrozavodsk in 2013. The Nordic Council considers it important to maintain the dialogue with Russia during the current crisis in Ukraine.

At the debate sessions on Thursday (24/4), leading up to Friday's debate on the future, politicians will discuss, among other things, the challenges facing young people in today's job market, international networking as a facilitator for the employment of young people and the link between education and social vulnerability.

The political part of the forum will be preceded by visits to the Technical Research Centre VTT in Oulu, the 3D laboratory at the University of Oulu and Business Kitchen on 23 April.

The Nordic Council will be represented by Simo Rundgren, Chair of the Finnish Delegation to the Nordic Council, Juho Eerola (Finland) and Jóhanna María Sigmundsdóttir (Iceland). The Nordic Youth Council will be represented by the President Jakob Esmann (Denmark).

Parliamentarians from a number of regional parliaments and youth assemblies will attend.
