Once upon a time there was a Danish writer and architect who decided to let his words create life, fairy tales and poetry in 1001 squares. This happened in the year of our Lord 1992 when the first hundred stories found their way to the man who would give them a home by letting them move into a book in each its own square. The architect and writer, who last name is Jensen, and first name is Louis, had the heart and knack to write poetry about a whole load of soft and round universes that could fill the frames of the squares. In order to prove that the words told the absolute, fantastic reality, Lilian Brøgger has drawn beautiful surreal pictures of everything that let one word lead to another.

It was the seventh time, in the year of our Lord 2012, that hundreds of new squares gave shelter to wood and dogs and cats and ducks and noses and hearts and fingers and hymns and countries and towns and everything else that are created together around life images with humour and seriousness and all that balances in between. And they were just themselves but also brought greetings from Hans Christian Andersen, Lewis Caroll and E.T. A. Hoffmann and other great poets to all the children and adults who just wanted to read along.

To put it quite bluntly:
Here you will find the very best words in Danish literature for children. These words open doors in their squares so the reader can be safely led by their eyes and heart and nose round in the world's fairy tale circus ring. All the square stories are caught in the magical pictures of the illustrator Lilian Brøgger.  These are pictures that do not let the words stand alone. Halli! Hallo! Here are 100 completely new stories. Each and every one without equal. It is quite magnificently done.
