On Tuesday 27 October at the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavik, the Nordic Council will award five prizes for literature, children and young people’s literature, music, film, and nature and environment. Nearly all the nominees will be present at the award ceremony, which will be hosted by Danish actress Charlotte Bøving and her Icelandic colleague Ólafur Egill Egilsson. The award ceremony will be broadcast by the Icelandic broadcaster RUV.

The ceremony begins at 19:30 (Icelandic time) with Eivør Pálsdóttir of the Faroe Islands performing with a variety of Icelandic artists in the beautiful Eldborg concert hall.

The honour of awarding the prizes goes to last year’s winners Simon Steen-Andersen, Benedikt Erlingsson, Kjell Westö, Håkon Øvreas and Øyvind Torseter, and Dagur B. Eggertsson and Ólöf Örvarsdóttir.

The winners will each receive the Nordic Council “Northern Lights” prize statuette and DKK 350,000.
