Sweden’s presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2024
Sweden’s presidency programme, which forms the basis for Nordic intergovernmental co-operation in 2024, will help to deliver the vision of the Nordic Region being the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.
The programme is divided into the following priority areas:
An integrated Nordic Region free from obstacles to freedom of movement
It should be easy to live, study, work, and run companies throughout the Nordic Region and across its borders. Consequently, Sweden’s presidency programme will step up the focus on creating an integrated Nordic Region.
A green Nordic Region
The Nordic Region must continue to be at the forefront of a competitive and innovation-driven transition, both at home and abroad, by promoting Nordic green solutions in the rest of the world.
A competitive Nordic Region
The Nordic Region’s global competitiveness is vital for the development of our businesses and safeguarding our future prosperity.
A socially sustainable Nordic Region
A socially sustainable Nordic Region means that our residents feel safe and that our society is resilient.
