Sauna

Sauna is AJ Annila's second genre film after his Finnish/Chinese Kung Fu movie Jade Warrior. It is a horror film about sins and forgiveness, bathing in the Finnish sauna culture, in the no-zone between Christianity and paganism.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008 and continued its festival tour with 30 different destinations. It won the Main Prize the Riga International Fantasy Festival in March 2009 and the Special Jury Prize at the Brussels International Fantasy Festival a month later. It was acquired by several English language territories including the US (IFC Films).
