Verandi promotes sustainability and recycling by manufacturing cosmetics from materials that would otherwise be discarded, e.g. coffee grounds and cocoa bean residue imported from around the globe as well as locally sourced products, e.g. crowberries left over from jam-making and “barley dust”. The innovative concept takes good, healthy materials that are usually discarded and transforms them into resources for new products. Nordic consumers continue to drink coffee and eat chocolate, even though the raw materials come from the other side of the world. It is important to devise methods of using these resource-intensive raw materials more than once.
