In the Nordic Region, we pride ourselves on our shared Nordic values. However, in recent decades there has been a tendency for people to know less and less about the languages of their Nordic neighbours.

Why is that? Why are language and culture so important? Can young people no longer be bothered with all things Nordic and prefer English and American?

The NORDEN Association and the Nordic Council of Ministers focus on this issue – both from a grassroots and political perspective.

Panellists:

  • Lars Barfoed, Chair, the Norden Association
  • Anna Falkenberg MP, Member of the Danish parliament and the Nordic Council, Union Party (Faroe Islands)

  • Rasmus Emborg, President, Nordic Youth Council

  • Aaja Chemnitz MP, Inuit Ataqatigiit

Moderator: Martin Breum, Journalist and Author.
