Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson will be responsible for Nordic co-operation in Katrín Jakobsdóttir’s new government. He will also be the minister of social affairs and the labour market in the recently established government.

Two months after the election, Iceland has a new government which, like the previous one, is led by Katrín Jakobsdóttir.

The Ministers for Nordic Co-operation have the mandate from the Nordic prime ministers for co-ordinating Nordic inter-governmental co-operation.

Iceland’s former Minister for Nordic Co-operation Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson is passing the baton to Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, who was minister for the environment and natural resources in the previous government.
