Guðbrandsson becomes Iceland’s new Minister for Nordic Co-operation
Two months after the election, Iceland has a new government which, like the previous one, is led by Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
The Ministers for Nordic Co-operation have the mandate from the Nordic prime ministers for co-ordinating Nordic inter-governmental co-operation.
Iceland’s former Minister for Nordic Co-operation Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson is passing the baton to Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, who was minister for the environment and natural resources in the previous government.
