Propose candidates for the Nordic Council's Environmental Prize 2026.

This year, the award goes to someone in the Nordic region who has done something extraordinary to educate children and young people on environmental and climate issues.

The nomination process for the Nordic Council's environmental prize is open to the public, and therefore anyone can propose candidates. 

Nominations for the award can be submitted until April 29, 2026.

How does the initiative fulfil the criteria for the prize in terms of impact, innovation, scalability, potential and relevance?

Take the following criteria into consideration when outlining your reasons for submitting the proposal. Note that it must not exceed one uploaded A4 page or 500 words in the textbox below.

  1. Impact: In what way does the initiative help to solve the biodiversity and climate crisis?
  2. Innovation: How does the initiative differ from others in its field?
  3. Scalability and potential: How can the initiative be scaled up to cover other countries and/or sectors?
  4. Relevance: What value does the initiative have for environmental work in the Nordic Region?
The grounds for your proposal should be submitted in PDF/Word/ODF-format.
