Nominated for a building equipment system developed by the company Are Oy. It integrates heating, cooling, ventilation in a building; it facilitates the reduction of energy supplies considerably in a building with high quality indoor conditions, without increasing the building's investment overhead appreciably.
Sensus was originally designed for office buildings, but it can also be installed with advantage in schools, hotels and hospitals. So far it has been installed in about 10 properties in Finland and Estonia, and five more are in the process of being built in Finland. The company estimates that by installing the system in all new buildings and building renovation in Finland annual savings in the region of 15,000 mWh could be achieved.
