The Arctic is warming at a rate twice the global average. The region is extremely vulnerable to both infectious diseases and natural disasters. Leading Nordic scholars discuss effects of and solutions to climate change on humans, animals and communities in the Arctic and the Nordic countries.

(Optional, if possible: How intertwined is human, animal and ecosystem health, and how are they affected by global warming? How can we build and maintain climate change resilience in the Arctic and the Nordic countries?)

Moderator: Guttorm Aanes, NordForsk

Speakers:

  • Birgitta Evengård, professor, Umeå University
  • Nils Christian Stenseth, professor, University of Oslo
  • Rico Kongsager, associate professor, University College Copenhagen

Organizer: Climate change, resilience and new pandemics in the Arctic
