Launch: State of the Nordic Region 2026
Information
About the event
State of the Nordic Region 2026 traces patterns and variations of regional development and resilience across the Nordics in a period characterised by multiple, partially overlapping transitions and heightened uncertainty. It offers a comparative overview of how the Nordic Region is changing in the face of demographic change, shifting labour markets, economic uncertainty, pressures on critical infrastructure, and the accelerating green transition. The report combines statistics, maps, and analysis to reveal broad patterns and shed light on local realities.
During the online launch on 25 March, Nordregio researchers will present:
- Key developments in demography, labour markets, and economy
- Long-term structural patterns and recent trends shaping Nordic cities, municipalities, and regions
- Highlights of shared challenges and local differences
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions, share your perspectives, and discuss implications for policy, planning, regional development, and Nordic cooperation.
