Health insurance while studying in Iceland
Students from Nordic countries who come to Iceland during their studies can request to be temporarily insured during their stay in Iceland. You must submit an application for temporary health insurance (see application forms on the website of Icelandic Health Insurance), together with confirmation of your study programme, to obtain health insurance during your stay in Iceland.
Students who move back to Iceland within six months of the end of their studies abroad can submit a confirmation of their study, together with an application for health insurance, in order to be insured from the date of their registration of legal domicile, see application on the right.
