The Nordic Council of Ministers’ funding schemes for art and culture

The Nordic Council of Ministers finances a range of schemes to promote art and culture in the region. The schemes are run by the Council of Ministers’ strategic partners and institutions.

Nordic Culture Point

Nordic Culture Point promotes cultural co-operation for children and young people and in civil society. For example, it funds cultural and artistic projects in the Nordic Region, co-operation between children and young people on social and cultural initiatives, projects to improve children’s and young people’s knowledge of other Nordic languages and culture, and co-operation and networking activities between civil society actors in the region. 

The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture

The Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture promotes co-operation, knowledge sharing and networking between artists and cultural actors in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Nordic Culture Point runs the programme, which funds residencies, travel grants, collaborative projects and networking.  

Nordic Culture Fund

The Nordic Culture Fund promotes cultural co-operation between the Nordic countries and between the Nordic Region and the rest of the world. For example, it funds research visits, network building and professional collaborations, as well the development and scaling of art and culture projects across the region and throughout the world.  

The Nordic Institute in Greenland (NAPA)

The Nordic Institute in Greenland promotes Nordic art and culture in the country. It also funds artistic and cultural initiatives in the Nordic Region that are relevant to Greenland.  

The Saami Council

The Saami Council promotes and safeguards the interests of the Saami people in all of the countries where they live. It runs a funding scheme to promote and develop Saami culture in the Nordic Region. 

The Sami Artists Council

The Sami Artists' Council promotes the cultural interests of its six member organisations. They run funding schemes for Sami artists and institutions for collaborative projects in the Nordic Region.
