Mobilising young people to work towards a more sustainable and climate-friendly society.

World Saving Hustle is nominated for the 2025 Nordic Council Environment Prize.

World Saving Hustle (WSH) is a networking organisation that connects and inspires young people who are passionate about protecting nature, animals, and people. Since its launch in 2017, thousands have contributed with projects that help to make the world a better place. Environmental protection is at the heart of everything they do, as it affects all living beings. This therefore drives their initiatives and campaigns.

WSH is actively involved in several initiatives to combat the climate crisis and preserve biodiversity. In 2019, they led a petition that prompted several counties in Norway to declare a climate crisis. Furthermore, WSH has campaigned against mining on the seabed and organised clean-ups in which several tonnes of marine litter have been collected.

What sets WSH apart from other environmental and climate organisations is its strong social media presence and ability to engage and mobilise young people who want to make a difference. Local teams organise workshops, events, and action campaigns They also place a strong emphasis on self-care initiatives, ensuring that volunteers receive support in dealing with the mental health challenges posed by climate change.

Over the past year, membership has grown rapidly to more than a thousand active members across eight active local teams and a number of start-up initiatives at upper secondary schools around Norway. Thanks to increased funding they are able to expand their activities, establish more local teams, and hire more staff. Their social media success has not only fuelled national action, but has also inspired global participation.

WSH is playing an important role in the Nordic region by empowering individuals and communities to take meaningful action for a greener and more sustainable society.
