27 projekt i Ryssland och Östersjöregionen får nordiskt stöd

Sammanlagt 27 samarbetsprojekt i Östersjöregionen och nordvästra Ryssland får ekonomiskt stöd av Nordiska ministerrådet. Den totala summan som delas ut är 13 miljoner danska kronor.

Avsikten med stödet är att stärka civilsamhället och samarbetet över gränserna och därmed bidra till utvecklingen i regionen.

De projekt som får stöd har inriktning på social och hälsovård, barn och unga, utbildning, kultur, jämställdhet, miljö, civilsamhället, demokrati och mänskliga rättigheter.

Projektpartnerna i Norden och de samarbetande länderna omfattar icke-statliga organisationer, universitet och lokala myndigheter. Samarbetspartnerna utanför Norden kommer från Östersjöregionen, som inkluderar Estland, Lettland, Litauen, Polen, Nordvästryssland och Vitryssland.

- I en tid med nedkylda politiska relationer är det viktigt att fokusera på people-to-people kontakter, utbyte av erfarenheter och makroregionalt samarbete för att säkra stabilitet och en positiv utveckling i regionen. Jag är övertygad om att kontakten och förståelsen mellan medborgarna i regionen ska stärkas. Oavsett den politiska situationen ska vi förhålla oss till regionens utmaningar, säger Kenneth Broman, stabchef på Nordiska ministerrådet.

Ett mål med stödprogrammet är att hjälpa till att få fram nya initiativ som bygger upp kapacitet och stärker nätverk genom t.ex. utbyte av erfarenheter och bästa praxis.
