The Nordic Network for Adult Learning (NVL) and the Network for Sustainable Development invite to a webinar series on the topic of adult learning and sustainable development. The first webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 6 2020 from 1 pm to 2 pm.
During the webinar, you will hear the presentation ”From Vulnerability to Sustainability?” by Thomas Hylland Eriksen, Professor of Social Anthropology, University of Oslo.
The focus of the webinar will be on how we can use the corona crisis as an opportunity for some critical reflection. How can we look at the current situation as an “open window” to another way of organizing our everyday life and society? What opportunities are there for adult education?
The webinar is connected to NVL’s Nordic Networking Conference on Adult Learning on September 22 2020 and intends to ”warm up” to what will become a central theme: How is the current situation in the Nordic countries? How do we organise our work on Vision 2030 in relation to the pandemic we are on the way out of / we are still in? What transformative forces are important to consider? What opportunities do we see for adult learning?
- Gain an understanding of the vulnerability of the global system and how it affects our everyday lives.
- Gain an insight into how the time that seems to go more slowly during Covid-19 can be an opportunity for some critical reflection.
- Reflect on the opportunities the COVID-19 situation offers to make sustainable choices that also enhance our quality of life.
- Exchange experiences with Nordic colleagues and experts working on adult learning.
