The International Profiling and Positioning of the Nordic Region program is anchored within the Nordic Council of Ministers and has been commissioned by the Nordic Ministers for Co-operation.

Overall responsibility for the project rests with the Director of Communications at the Nordic Council of Ministers. While, the project manager oversees the ongoing strategic direction and coordination of the project.

The Profiling and Positioning Program is anchored in and supports the Nordic Co-operation Programme for the Ministers of Co-operation (MR-SAM) 2025–2030.

Reference Group

The Program is guided by a reference group consisting of public diplomacy experts, foreign affairs ministries, trade promotion organisations and tourism board representatives from across the Nordic region. In its advisory capacity, the reference group provides the Nordic Council of Ministers with knowledge and insight into international initiatives and activities that contribute to promoting the Nordics.

The group also supports the development of the Program by sharing information to ensure coordination between the Nordic countries and the Nordic Council of Ministers, helping to strengthen synergies and avoid overlapping profiling efforts. The reference group plays an advisory role in the design, implementation and follow-up of initiatives and projects.
