The Nordic Council of Ministers supports projects on co-operation in the Baltic Sea Region and Northwest Russia with a total amount of 13M DKK. All thematic areas are eligible and special allocations are made available for strengthening democracy, human rights, civil society and NGO cooperation. The joint call is open for applications from December 31 2017.

The Nordic Council of Ministers announces a call for applications that provides an opportunity to apply for grants from two NCM-programs: the Nordic Co-operation with Russia-program and the NGO Program for the Baltic Sea Region. The ambition of the call is to launch new initiatives that build capacity and strengthen networks through e.g. exchange of experiences and best practices.

“Co-operation and networking among peers in our region is of great importance” says Kenneth Broman, Chief of Staff of the NCM. “In the Nordic countries civil society organisations play a crucial role in the societal development. Since the year 2018 in Russia has been dedicated to “a year of civic engagement and volunteering work”, I am looking very much forward to welcome well prepared projects of Nordic-Russian co-operation and of the larger Baltic Sea Region”, the Chief of Staff continues.

The Nordic-Russian co-operation programme now accommodates the general Open Call-program to which 5 million DKK is earmarked, and the new Civil Society & Human Rights initiative to which 4 million DKK is earmarked. There is furthermore allocated 4 million DKK to fund projects in the NGO programme organisations of the whole Baltic Sea Region, including also Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Belarus.

Deadline for applications is February 18 2018 23:59:59 CET
