This year, the theme for the Nordic Council Environment Prize is initiatives that bring us closer to the waste-free society. Anybody can submit nominations. The winner will be announced in Helsinki on 1 November 2017, during the Session of the Nordic Council.

Criteria for nomination

The prize is awarded to a Nordic company, organisation, or individual which has integrated consideration for the environment into its business or work in an exemplary manner, or which has made an extraordinarily positive contribution to the environment in some other way. The winner must have a Nordic perspective and operate in the Nordic Region as well as/or with parties outside the Region.

Theme and nominations

“This year, we are seeking to promote initiatives that bring us closer to the waste-free society, which also entails making progress toward the UN’s 2030 sustainable development goals,” the Nordic adjudication committee says.

Do you know a Nordic company, organisation or individual, who is involved in promoting, developing or using waste-free solutions? If so, nominate your candidate here. The explanation must not exceed one A4 page.

Nomination form

The deadline for nominations is 19 April 2017.
