Nominations for the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize 2014 will be announced on 26 March
The Adjudication Committee will publish the names for the nominations for the newly established prize next week. Many are waiting in great suspense to find out which works have been put forward for this prestigious Nordic prize.
The Children and Young People’s Literature Prize was awarded for the first time in 2013 and immediately attracted considerable media attention in all the Nordic countries. The Finnish book Karikko (The Reef ) by Seita Vuorela and Jani Ikonen (ill.) was the first winner of the new prize. The Nordic Council awarded the prize along with the other Nordic Council prizes during a televised prize gala in Oslo.
The nominations for 2014 will be published on the Nordic Council's website www.norden.org simultaneously with the presentation at the book fair in Bologna.
The winner of the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize will be introduced at the Nordic Council Session in Stockholm on 29 October 2014.
The Children and Young People’s Literature Prize is the fifth in the series of Nordic Council prizes and is accompanied by a cheque for DKK 350,000.
