Nordic Talks is a series of live talks that provides a space for contemplation and to share inspiration on how to act on sustainability issues in our everyday lives. Apply now and become part of a global community addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

All of the Nordic Talks are dedicated to addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and all of them provide specific ideas on how we, as ordinary citizens, can make a difference – right here and now. The mission is to inspire people to act, which is why each talk ends with a set of clear-cut action points. To make sustainable actions comprehensible we need tangible things to do.

A Nordic Talk can take place anywhere in the world and anyone with a good idea for a talk can apply for funding. We welcome both online and offline events, and encourage both independently organized talks as well as plug-ins to existing events, such as festivals or conferences.

We have already funded more than 100 events in close to 50 countries and have engaged more than 250 partners, innovators and thought leaders across the globe. This is just the start and you can be part of the future.

We are also a podcast!

A selection of the most interesting and high-quality Nordic Talks are edited into podcasts hosted by PhD Afton Halloran.

International branding of the Nordic Region

Nordic Talks is an initiative by the Nordic Council and Council of Ministers. The Open Call is an initiative designed to implement the strategy for the international profiling and positioning of the Nordic Region.

The overall aim is to create a unified brand for The Nordics, a brand that shares its relevance with the world by showing how Nordic thinking has inspired many, and how common values can transcend borders, cultures and generations.

This is the 9th call for applications. Since 2016, 185 projects from different corners of the globe have been supported by The Nordics, bringing many innovative ideas into the international spotlight.
