The Nordics, together
Nordic value and cohesion in troubled times
We are stronger together, both in everyday life and in times of crisis.
The theme for this year’s session is “The Nordics, together – Nordic value and cohesion in troubled times”. The parliamentarians of the Nordic Council work to deliver a Nordic Region where it is easy to lead one’s life, to live and work across borders, and where co-operation underpins peace, democracy, and trust.
The Nordic Council’s 87 members, elected by their national parliaments, meet during the Session. The official opening day on 28 October is marked by the summit between the Nordic Council and the Nordic Prime Ministers, as well as an address by the year’s keynote guest. The focus of this year’s summit is Nordic cohesion and the Nordic everyday advantage. In the evening, the Nordic Council prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony.
Wednesday’s programme includes a question time with the Ministers for Nordic Co-operation, as well as debates on foreign policy and defence policy with the respective ministers for these fields.
On the last day of the Session, the Nordic Council will vote on the recommendations to be made to the Nordic governments in the areas of welfare, the climate, and the green transition.
All plenary debates and the awards ceremony will be broadcast live on this page:
