Child support and child maintenance allowance in Åland
Parents have joint responsibility for the maintenance of their children. The parent that the child does not live with can contribute to the child’s maintenance by paying child support. If the child does not get child support, child maintenance allowance may be paid by Kela to ensure their maintenance.
