These days, attention is focused on Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands, where the UArctic Congress 2026 is taking place alongside the Ocean Connectivity Conference. Together, the two events bring hundreds of leading researchers, policymakers, and Indigenous representatives from across the globe.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with a range of Nordic research institutions and programmes. Climate change and biodiversity loss in the northernmost parts of our region call for stronger regional cooperation, knowledge exchange, and research collaboration. The Nordic region is therefore strongly represented, with an extensive programme, active participation, and a dedicated Nordic information stand.

Below, we have compiled an overview of Nordic events. This year’s congress also highlights the Nordic Arctic Programme, which for the past 30 years has contributed to advancing knowledge and cooperation on marine environments and climate change, Indigenous rights, and economic development in the Arctic regions.

The Ocean Connectivety Conference is funded by the Nordic Council of Minsters.
