Norwegian Minister for Nordic Co-operation Anne Beathe Tvinnereim.

The Ministers for Nordic Co-operation laid flowers today at the scene of the senseless violence that ravaged the Norwegian capital on Saturday night. In connection with the laying of flowers, the ministers made the following statement:

Oslo and Norway have once again hit by a violent attack on innocent people. Two people have lost their lives and many others have been injured. It is a tragedy that no words can change. Our thoughts go out to the dead and injured, and to all their relatives after this terrible incident.

The Nordic countries stand together with the LGBTQI community and against all forms of violence.

In a time of grief like this, we want to demonstrate Nordic unity on common values and our open societies with room for everyone. The attack shows that we can never rest in our work to protect our values.
