Accreditation to the Nordic Council Theme Session is open

The sea will be the main focus and the subject of a special debate at the Nordic Council Theme Session, 9–10 April in Akureyri, Iceland . The media are now welcome to apply for accreditation.

The Nordic Council April meetings start on Monday 9 April in the Hof conference centre in Akureyri with meetings of the party groups, the committees and the Presidium. The members of the Council will gather the following day for the theme Session and topical debate on the sea.

The sea and the marine environment are a priority for the Norwegian Presidency of the Nordic Council this year. Before the debate, the Nordic Council of Ministers will provide a briefing on progress by the Nordic countries towards achieving UN sustainable development goal 14 on the sea.

The debate, which will last from 13:35 until 15:00, will be streamed live in Scandinavian (link to follow).

After the debate, the Theme Session will continue discussing Council business until 18:30. The debate and Session are both open to the media.

Accreditation

Journalists wishing to cover the Theme Session must submit this form by 15:00 on Friday 6 April.
