About COP

Almost every country in the world attends the COP negotiations under the auspices of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

COP stands for Conference of the Parties, and this year marks the thirtieth time nations have gathered to promote action on climate change.

COP30 will take place in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, 2025.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement being adopted at COP21 in Paris.

As the countries laid the final foundations for the frameworks for the Paris Agreement last year in Baku, COP30 is also being referred to as an implementation COP, with a shift in focus from negotiation to action.
