Personal identity code in Åland

Read all about this in the section personal identity code in Finland since the same rules apply in Åland as in Finland.
Foreign citizens intending to stay in Åland for more than 12 months must register in person at the Åland Local Register Office at the State Department’s local register office unit for the registration of personal data. Here you can also just get a personal identity code (personal number), meaning that you just have an active personal identity code (personal number) but no registered municipality of residence. You can find information on all of this as well as where to find the State Department of Åland and e.g. what type of valid ID document you need to have with you on the Åland local register office unit’s page on registration of foreigners.
