Norwegian Vice Admiral Louise Dedichen, who serves as the Norwegian Military Representative to NATO, will be a guest speaker at the Nordic Council theme session in Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands on 9 April.

The topic of this years theme session is security, peace, and preparedness in the North Atlantic. Dedichen will speak under the heading “War in Europe. What now, Nordics?”

“A lot has changed recently, especially after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine just over two years ago. Sweden and Finland’s recent membership of NATO is positive and something that I’m looking forward to discussing in Tórshavn,” says Dedichen.

In NATO, Louise’s focus is on the northern areas. During her career, she has looked extensively at gender equality in the army. Before she became Norway’s military representative in NATO, she was head of the Norwegian Defence University College.

The debate at the Nordic Council theme session will be streamed live at norden.org.
