Who will win the Nordic Council Environment Prize 2019?

The nominees for the Nordic Council Environment Prize 2019 will be announced on Saturday by Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson, the Icelandic Minister for Nordic Co-operation, at the LÝSA festival of democracy in Akureyri.

The launch will be held at the Hof Cultural and Conference Centre in Akureyri on 7 September 11:00–11:20 (13:00–13:20 CET). Information about all of the nominees will be published simultaneously on www.norden.org.

Sustainable consumption

The Nordic Council Environment Prize 2019 will go to an initiative that promotes sustainable consumption and production by doing more and better with less – as per the UN Sustainable Development Goal number 12.

The Nordic Council Environment Prize will be awarded for the 25th time this year. The winner of the DKK 350.000 prize will be announced on 29 October during the Session of the Nordic Council in Stockholm.
