Between them, the Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and the Arts Council Norway earmark NOK 1.6 million p.a. to fund a wide range of cultural co-operation between the two countries.

Grants are available to applicants from both countries. Projects must have relevance to both nations and preferably also leave a legacy of lasting relationships between artists, other individuals involved in culture or researchers. Grants are not normally available to cover travel costs by amateur groups, e.g. choirs and music ensembles, and do not cover the full costs of projects. Applications are assessed in March/April.
