Nordic Council Film Prize 2019 – the nominees
The national juries have nominated the following five films for this year’s film prize:
NORWAY
The winning film will be announced on 29 October
The winner of the 2019 Nordic Council Film Prize will be announced on 29 October at an award ceremony in Stockholm in conjunction with the Session of the Nordic Council. The prize of DKK 350,000 (approximately EUR 47,000) will be shared equally between the winning film’s director, scriptwriter, and producer.
About the Nordic Council Film Prize
The Nordic Council Film Prize is awarded to a full-length feature film that has roots in Nordic culture and displays high standards of artistic quality and originality.
The Nordic Council Film Prize was first awarded in 2002 and is now awarded each year along with the other Nordic prizes for literature, music, and the environment. Nordisk Film & TV Fond is responsible for the administration of the prize.
Where to watch the Nordic Region’s best films this autumn
This autumn, the five nominated files will be screened at the following events around the Nordic Region:
- Love & Anarchy - Helsinki International Film Festival, 19 to 28 September
- Bio Paradis, Reykjavík, 15 to 20 October
- Cinemateket, Oslo, 25 to 27 October
- Grand teatret, Copenhagen, 27 October
- Best of Norden, Stockholm, 27 to 28 October

About the Nordic Council prizes
The Nordic Council awards five prizes each year – for literature, film, music, the environment, and children’s and young people’s literature. The purpose of the Nordic Council prizes is to raise interest in the Nordic cultural community and Nordic co-operation on the environment, as well as to recognise outstanding artistic and environmental efforts.
