The 2024 Session of the Nordic Council – Peace and security in the Arctic

The 2024 Session of the Nordic Council was held in the Icelandic parliament, the Althing, and Reykjavík City Hall. The main theme for the Session this year was “Peace and Security in the Arctic”.

The Session is Nordic inter-parliamentary co-operation’s supreme decision-making body. It is a unique form of regional co-operation that brings together MPs who sit on the Nordic Council and government ministers.

The main theme for the Session 2024 was “Peace and security in the Arctic”. A potential update of the Helsinki Treaty was also on the agenda.

Authors Niels Fredrik Dahl and Jakob Martin Strid, composer Rune Glerup, architect Arnhildur Pálsdóttir, film director Dag Johan Haugerud, and producers Yngve Sæther and Hege Hauff Hvattum can now all call themselves prize winners.
