The Nordics – a driving force in fighting marine plastic pollution regionally and globally
Information
The project will contribute to reducing plastic waste and microplastics in the sea, water and on land.
The project will support the work of reaching a global agreement on plastics and be able to complement the regional maritime convention work, the Basel Convention, the EU work and other relevant international work by further mapping and proposing measures relating to the plastic life cycle and promoting a circular economy. Activities include, among other things, supporting voluntary beach cleaning / remediation measures, measures in the event of major accidents involving the release of plastic pellets, preventive measures in the use phase and mapping of indicators for plastic leakage in the plastic value chain.
