UN Ocean Conference: Regional cooperation for an ecosystem-based approach in Nordic seas
Information

The event will focus on regional cooperation as a tool to achieve comprehensive sustainable ocean management. As recent Nordic and European research has highlighted the extent of ecosystem connectivity across jurisdictions, it underscores the need for a comprehensive approach to ocean management that aligns marine protection and fisheries management, as well as bringing regional stakeholders together to overcome barriers for policy implementation. The Skagerrak sea to which Denmark, Norway and Sweden are neighbours and custodians can serve as an example to achieve transformative change for sustainability and long-term resilience through deepened regional cooperation.
