Job-seeking in the Faroe Islands

Jobsøgning på Færøerne
This page has tips on how to seek work in the Faroe Islands.

If you are looking for work in the Faroe Islands, you can search on Starv.fo, which is part of the employment services of the Faroese unemployment scheme ALS (in Faroese).

You can also search Faroese news portals, where you will find a list of job applications (in Faroese).

In addition, the large employers place job advertisements on their own websites when they are seeking new staff.

Non-Nordic labour

Workers who come to the Faroe Islands from countries outside the Nordic region must be offered a 40-hour working week. There must also be a basic need for the labour, and the work permit must accord with the collective agreement in the area.
