Transformative Governance for Nature-based Solutions

This policy brief summarises key messages from the Copenhagen Symposium on Transformative Governance for Nature-based Solutions, held on 21 April 2026. The symposium brought together around 80 participants from policy, research, practice, civil society and business to discuss how nature-based solutions can be mainstreamed and scaled. The brief highlights the need for long-term visions, integrated governance, inclusive decision-making, stronger communication, justice considerations and cultural change. It concludes that nature-based solutions must be part of broader societal transformation, supported by new partnerships, institutional change and sustained collaboration across sectors and levels.
