Nordic Hydrogen Valleys

In this first comprehensive mapping of Nordic hydrogen value chains, an overview of the status and the nature of clean hydrogen projects across the Nordic region is established, based on definitions of “Nordic hydrogen valley” and “Nordic hydrogen hotspot”, specifically developed for the mapping carried out in this report. The mapping results are visualized in an interactive digital tool (available at nordich2valleys.org), at the same time ensuring a joint Nordic digital platform as the basis for future updates of the Nordic hydrogen value chain landscape. In addition to the mapping, the report analyses the potential of clean hydrogen-based fuels in Arctic maritime transport. Finally, the report carries out an analysis of drivers, barriers and policy measures regarding the development of hydrogen valleys in the Nordics and on that basis policy recommendations are highlighted.
