Global Ecovillage Network

The Swedish Energy Agency has been implementing some virtual pilots around the world. This event will present the main challenges and opportunities for host countries and buyers. We will have representatives from the Colombian Government and the Swedish Energy Agency discussing the results of the virtual pilots and the future of Article 6 and other market mechanisms.

Building materials have a massive environmental footprint. To achieve the climate targets, it is urgent to spread sustainable consumption and production practices within the construction sector. This event will focus on sharing good examples and policy instruments from the Nordic countries and the Global South regarding responsible sourcing of building materials in order to move to low-carbon construction with the emphasis on material production, greening supply chains, local capacity development and local SMEs. The event is hosted by the Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme under the UN One Planet Network. It can be followed from Stockholm, Madrid and online.
