In this talk you will meet the frontrunner city of Södertälje in Sweden, who for the last decade have been leading on new solutions for a green transition  on food in the public sector.  Sara Jervfors will talk about their journey and how cities can serve both as test-beds for new solutions and showcases of how change is possible. She will also discuss what’s needed to accelerate a shift in the public sector and how cities are using food as a solution to sustainability and climate challenges.

Joint event between Stockholm and Madrid 📺

Building materials have a massive environmental footprint. To achieve the climate targets, it is urgent to spread sustainable consumption and production practices within the construction sector. This event will focus on sharing good examples and policy instruments from the Nordic countries and the Global South regarding responsible sourcing of building materials in order to move to low-carbon construction with the emphasis on material production, greening supply chains, local capacity development and local SMEs. The event is hosted by the Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme under the UN One Planet Network. It can be followed from Stockholm, Madrid and online.
